  • 1:1 Orton-Gillingham (O-G) based tutoring in-person or online. I use the Yoshimoto Orton-Gillingham approach which is the most efficient of the O-G programs. It builds students’ phonological awareness while developing their thinking, vocabulary, writing, fluency, and comprehension skills.

  • I help students deepen fluency and comprehension with appropriately leveled texts to become stronger, more confident readers. Students will also develop effective reading habits while setting realistic goals.

  • I am trained in the Hochman Method® by The Writing Revolution®, and I bring these evidence-based writing practices into my tutoring sessions to help students craft effective sentences, paragraphs and compositions. Students also learn how to take notes to deepen learning in all subject areas and add content to their writing. Internalizing these foundational skills builds writing confidence. If students can write well about something, they understand it, so writing is the key to unlock all future learning.

  • Leveraging nearly 20 years in education, I provide single essay review or support including specific brainstorming and revision strategies.

  • I provide:

    • Themed reading lists such as diverse books, book-alikes for a particular book, great graphic novels, fantastic family read-alouds, and awesome audiobooks….or whatever theme you need!

  • I teach effective note-taking, organization, time management, and study strategies including:

    • Time management and homework planning

    • Note-taking practice

    • Learning HOW to study in a way that works best for your brain

    • Facilitation for homeschoolers, teens, adults

    • Discussion guides, sample norms and protocols
